About Course

The 32-Hour Supervisor Site Safety Training (SST) package is a mandatory training program for construction supervisors on New York City construction sites that have a Site Safety Plan in place. To operate in New York City, designated construction supervisors must complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and carry site safety identification cards (SST cards) as proof of their training completion, in accordance with New York City Local Law 196 of 2017, also known as ‘LL196’ or ‘Local Law.’ This 32-hour course provides a portion of the required training hours; the remaining 30 hours are typically obtained by completing the OSHA 30 course.

Workers designated as Site Safety Managers, Site Safety Coordinators, Construction Superintendents, Concrete Safety Managers, and competent persons at construction sites under Local Law 196 must possess a Supervisor SST Card.

Training Includes

8-Hour Fall Prevention: Training on how to recognize and prevent fall hazards.
8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher (Chapter 33): A refresher on site safety management.
4-Hour Supported Scaffold User: Training for safe scaffold use.
2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness: Focus on the dangers of substance abuse in the workplace.
2-Hour Pre-Task Meetings and Toolbox Talks: Procedures for safety planning and discussions before tasks.
2-Hour Site Safety Plan (SSP): Overview of how to create and follow site safety plans.
Elective Courses: Additional specialized and general safety topics.

Training Requirements
Mandatory 100% attendance for the online class is required. Achieve at least 70% on the written assessment at the course’s end. Complete the Evaluation Form upon finishing the course.
